Mack Trucks has launched its second electric truck in the form of the 'MD Electric,' a medium-duty truck that is effectively designed to function as an all-electric variant of Mack's MD truck, which happens to be powered by diesel.
The 'MD Electric' truck is equipped with a tri-phase motor that is capable of producing some 260 horsepower and 1,850 pounds-feet of torque. In terms of range, this electric truck can offer 225 km of range per charge when purchased with a dual-battery setup, and up to 370 km with three batteries.
This electric truck also puts driver comfort at the forefront thanks to features such as dual-air cab suspension to mitigate bumps, while the air-suspension seat offers comfortable seating and external cacophony is largely reduced thanks to intelligently placed insulation all over the truck cab.
