'Brick Habitats' Create Bird Residences & Planters on Your House
Elsa Blaine — August 16, 2009 — Eco
Brick Habitats is a modular building system for flora and fauna. Built into the exterior surface of a home, the bricks come in three basic shapes which can be used in various combinations to meet different needs.
The bricks can be configured into planters complete with drainage or bird feeders and houses. Imagine a wall full of growing vines or positioned near a window—a built-in herb garden could be close at hand. Wrens or swallows would look the huts formed by using all three pieces with the 'igloo' shaped one at the top to serve as an opening.
