Ghidini's Metal Furniture Collection Enlarges Miniature Objects
Riley von Niessen — May 9, 2016 — Art & Design
The Ghidini collection of brass furniture incorporates the work of Richard Hutten, Studio Job, Nika Zupanc, Andrea Branzi and Stefano Giavannoni and more.
Range in the collection varies, however standout pieces include a bullet-shaped vase, a rabbit seat, a champagne bucket made to look like a thimble and jewelry boxes modeled on cherries. The masculine 'Kaleidos' mirror designed by the Campana brothers has a bold geometric shape, which is created using a series of panels that make it unique as well. In addition, Richard Hutten's contributions include a coat rack coated in butterflies.
The art-inspired work of the brass furniture collection takes advantage of the rich color of the metal, forming a number of beautiful items that are both functional and decorative. Roberto Ghidini explains his inspiration for the collection by saying: "My family has produced brass for three generations and now the idea of using our commitment and knowledge to the service of some of the most renowned designers in Italy and abroad and, through them, be a part of people's homes, makes us feel proud and reaffirm our life-long passion."
