Boston Dynamics, the tech brand that's renowned for its robot dog dubbed 'Spot,' recently debuted a new robot designed to move boxes in warehouses. The robot, appropriately titled Stretch, was created for practicality in mind and features a "perception mast" crafted with cameras and other sensors. The machine is able to maneuver up to 50-pound boxes and will seamlessly integrate into warehouses, working alongside humans and machines.
“That’s what’s exciting about this system: it can provide automation to environments that don’t have automation infrastructure,” Boston Dynamics’ VP of business development Michael Perry stated. “You can take this capability and you can move it into the back of the truck, you can move it into aisles, you can move it next to your conveyors. It all depends what the problem of the day is.”
