BCXSY In Between Glassware Explores Diverse Opacities of Glass
Gil Cohen — November 8, 2012 — Art & Design
A recent collection commissioned for Inframince, BCXSY In Between Glassware demonstrates a wide range of opacities that glass can have.
The skill and craftsmanship of the glassmakers at the BCXSY design studio is evident in this project. Made up of several bowls, cups and carafes, the collection appears to have several pieces that look the same. However, once you take a closer look, you will notice the little variations in shape, style and the gradient of the glass itself. Organized in a row, the pieces appear to fade gradually from opaque white frosted glass, through translucent and sheer glass, all the way to perfectly transparent glass. Each handmade piece is unique through its own perfections and imperfections.
