Victoria Shoes Return From the 1980s

The super-popular Spanish Victoria canvas shoes that everyone wore over twenty years ago have made an incredible comeback.
These plimsolls follow a pretty simple equation: Rubber sole + canvas on top + a thousand colors from which to choose = success. I used to wear them when I was 10 (argh!) and, believe it or not, they’re becoming fashionable again.
Victoria sneakers were created in La Rioja, Spain in 1915 and were named for the founder’s wife. Although their peak was back in the 70’s and 80’s, it is amazing how Victoria sneakers have managed to stage a major style comeback (they are even attending Bread & Butter Winter 2009 fair in Barcelona).
I do not find Victoria sneakers absolutely fabulous, but the truth is that they have achieved a total renovation. Creative designers have been brought into the mix to customize them as if they were white canvas, and the new collections bring innovative designs and textures.
