Baby massage is one of the most powerful and naturally soothing practices, dating back centuries to the Qing dynasty. Today, baby massage has come a long way but has yet to achieve mass adoption. By developing the first waterproof, low-vibrational baby massage wand, Kahlmi’s mission is to help more parents embrace the bonding and nurturing aspects of baby massage with an accessible tool that serves as a daily reminder to massage baby.
Conceived to conform to baby’s smaller anatomical scale and inspired by Japanese Kokeshi dolls, the Kahlmi baby massager wand features anti-microbial, edible-grade silicone, water resistance, Acu-touch feet, and three interchangeable massage heads for a variety of sensory experiences.
“Research shows that the past few years has led to an increase in parents struggling with anxiety, stress," says Kahlmi creator Elina Furman, a certified baby massage educator. "Baby massage has been proven to be one of the most important ways to help Moms and Dads struggling with anxiety as it creates an instant connection between the baby and caretaker. Baby massage also increases feelings of competency and Oxytocin which releases feel good hormones for both the baby being massaged and the caretaker."
It is Kahlmi's hope that the release of the first baby massage wand will help demystify and educate families about the importance of a regular baby massage practice and will raise awareness of the innumerable science-back physical and psychological benefits of baby massage for baby and parents.
