Architecture firm NOTO completes the Babendiekstraße 23 building located in Hamburg, Germany. The residence is defined by its sage green facade that is created with rhythmic wooden panels. It rests on a site filled with trees and the two homes join together within a three-storey cubic structure with perforated details to make space for the green that surrounds the home.
This honors the trees around the area including a cut-off section to accommodate the angle of an existing tree. The studio explains the design plan behind the project, noting "The floor plan of the building is based on a three-by-three grid structure. The building partition wall breaks this grid diagonally, with the exception of the stairwells, which remain orthogonal to the facades."
