This fantastic light fixture hangs in the lobby of the Audi Design Center in California. It was designed for Ivalo Lighting by a group of automotive designers formed by Audi as a “think tank†for the future of automotive design.
The dynamic fixture, made of frosted glass and aluminum, is called the Daedalus and was created around a helix shape that changes form as you view it from different angles. The 5' long chandelier is illuminated by 8 low-voltage halogen lamps and is suspended with aircraft cables.
From one angle, the shape reminds me of an exaggerated female skeleton; like a dress made of bones.
