Architectural firm Snøhetta works in collaboration with Norwegian manufacturer Asak Miljøstein on the new Asak Flyt, which is made to withstand extreme weather conditions. It is a permeable concrete pavement that is made up of three hexagonal tiles that interlock together. The system comes in a variety of sizes within the system and allows architects the liberty to control the permeability of the ground.
It is a great progression for construction projects. The team also notes that the riles have a unique space between them in order to create a 'visually exciting expression. Snøhetta explains that “The system is a new flexible design tool to program outdoor spaces without compromising their permeable needs to ensure a more sustainable approach in the future."
