Saleem Khattak is a Canadian lighting designer at Archilume and his latest three lighting systems are the captivating Alto, Aura and Balance lights. The Alto light recalls that of a diamond cut as it sees a strong cone form upper on top of a translucent foundation. It has the label's signature "total internal reflection optics" implemented. It illuminates a warm glow and reaches a full brightness of 3,000 degrees Kelvin with a low of 1,800 degrees Kelvin.
The Aura is split into two hemispheres to formulate a sphere structure -- the top is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum and the lower form is clear. The Balance is influenced by the Bauhaus movement and sees references to the cultural work of Joan Miro and Alexander Calder. It is comprised of two disc forms -- one is opaque and the other is clear or frosted, held by dual cables.
