Oris Presents Two New Aquis Date Watches with Upcycled Details
References: designtaxi
German social brand Bracenet works in collaboration with Oris on two iterations of the Aquis Date watches. Both of these are made with a sustainable mindset defined by the upcycled dials that are constructed from retired fishing nets. The nets are collected from the ocean and then melted down, cooled, and hardened in order to create a thin sheet of material.
This is cut up and planned before it is sanded down for a smooth finish to create the unique dial in the timepieces. All of the dials have their own distinct traits as the plastic blend will create a special combination of blue and green. It is housed in a stainless steel case and comes in the size of 43.5mm and 36.5mm.
