These honey cinnamon glazed apple pie cookies are a healthier and bite-sized version of a classic American dessert. Created by the blog Savory Nothings, the apple dessert recipe is so good, you could probably eat the entire cookie batch in one sitting. The fall treats are made without any butter, oil or flour, which also makes them ideal for folks with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
You can use either blanched or raw almonds in the soft apple pie cookies, depending on how earthy of a flavor you like. If you don't have store-bought apple pie spice on hand, you can combine ground cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom instead. While the glaze is optional, it really takes the cookie to a new (and delicious) level. It does become quite hard after it sets, however, making them less great for toddlers.
