Italian furniture manufacturer Antoniazzi & Piovesana created two stunning tree trunk bookcases, which were inspired by nature. Each bookcase uses a real trunk from a tree that acts as the main support system for the shelf.
The first shelf titled 'Trunk Library' uses a large trunk that works like a spine. The shelves run straight across the trunk, which means there is no need for side paneling on this bookcase. The second unit titled Library Aniqua uses two slimmer trunks that are posted at either end of the shelf and act as the perimeter to contain books and novel collections.
These minimal units bring a nature-esque feeling into any interior room. This design by Antoniazzi & Piovesana also provides a sense rustic comfort and uses less wood than a traditional bookcases by eliminating the need for backing.
