Google announced that the next main iteration of its mobile device operating system, Android 13, is available now. The OS is currently only available on Google's Pixel line of phones, specifically the Pixel 4, 5, and 6 family of devices, meaning owners of these devices will be the first to access the new Android features.
Notable new features that are exclusive to Android 13 include spatial audio with head-tracking, new ways to synchronize Android devices with Google laptops, such as Chromebooks, and the ability to customize non-Google applications to match a specific phone's colorway.
In addition to these core features, Android 13 also allows for heightened personalization and security, allowing users to individually permit access to specific pictures and videos to an application rather than granting access to the entire phone's storage. On top of this, users can set individual application preferences, such as language, battery profiles, and more.
