These Andre De Freitas paintings of women are the perfect marriage between pseudo-realist and typographic art. Rather than illustrating every strand of hair, which would be a simple task for Freitas judging from his rendering capabilities, he opts instead to write lyrics into the locks of these stunning ladies. The resulting images are so badass that lovers of music and art should be clambering to purchase a few of his prints.
Andre De Freitas is a photographer and illustrator. He explains that, though he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Animation, he somehow became more intrigued with the concept of still images and has been producing these sorts of amazing artworks ever since.
For those still not convinced, the lyrics in the ladies' hair come from songs by Interpol, Bon Iver, TV On The Radio and Deftones. Great music and great art. What more can you ask for?
