AMC and Dreamscape Immersive have partnered in attempt to bring virtual reality to movie theaters by 2018.
The partnership, which intends to make virtual reality the next storytelling medium, will begin the process by re-purposing existing movie theaters into immersive rooms for guests to embark on VR adventures. These immersion rooms will accommodate between two and six people, and hope to offer a variety of narrative-based experiences.
The on-site VR theaters will offer guests a more authentic experience, as the entire room can be used as a prop to enhance the experience, as appose to standard VR demonstrations, which just involve the goggles.
