Just because you're going camping doesn't mean you have to be without your laptop, cellphone or iPod. Joel Lim's Alppac Backpack is designed to wirelessly charge small gadgets using electricity harnessed through movement.
The Alppac Backpack gathers electricity as the wearer is walking. The up and down walking motion rubs a toothed rack along a pinion generator, which gathers the power and stores it for later use. The backpack has a wireless charging pad that's ideal for small gadgets like cellphones and MP3 players.
Despite its techy design, the Alppac Backpack is meant for serious outdoorsmen and comes with a first aid kit and tons of storage space. The backpack's main shell can even be removed, which lightens the load during strenuous hikes or all-day adventures.
