Going in an entirely new direction this season, the Alexander McQueen Resort 2013 collection plays upon the tension between masculine and feminine silhouettes. Wide legs, strong shoulders and high waists are in no shortage with this futuristic series.
Although the collection leans towards androgynous attires, there is still something very McQueen about the lookbook. Head designer Sarah Burton has added some extreme proportions and features to these menswear-inspired pantsuits. The metallic fabrics and embellished details exude a futuristic luxury that is certainly eye-catching. Burton was also inspired by the Art Deco era, using gilded gold and black fabrics in her floor-length gowns and adding an abstract motif to her waist-cinching cuts.
