The conceptual Butterfly Aircraft Seat has been designed by James Lee as a solution to help adjust flying and make it safer for passengers in the post-COVID-19 environment. The business class seats feature an offset design that would minimize interaction between passengers, while also providing additional space for single travelers if the seat beside them is empty. This would also work well for passengers traveling with small children to let them create a small dedicated area for them to both feel secure in.
The conceptual Butterfly Aircraft Seat takes design aesthetics into account in order to create a subtle sense of separation without creating too much of a divide that could instill a sense of uneasiness in passengers during the flight. The seat design is the winner of the 2020 A’ Design Award.
