Singapore is pioneering a novel approach to senior care with the introduction of Aiden, short for Autonomous Intelligence for Delivery and Engagement. This autonomous mobile robot, currently undergoing a trial at Block 151 Mei Ling Street until February 2024, is designed to navigate the small lifts and narrow corridors of rental flats in Queenstown.
Aiden's primary function is to deliver two daily meals to seniors between the ages of 67 and 82. Beyond meal delivery, the robot can also assist with other essential items such as laundry or medication, providing valuable support to elderly residents. Equipped with a small arm, Aiden is capable of pressing lift buttons to call for the elevator and select the appropriate floor.
By automating routine tasks such as meal delivery, the autonomous robot allows the sole staff member to allocate more time to crucial aspects of care.
