This abstract candle holder resembles a catastrophe in its illusory design. The Sinking Ship candle holder by Rob Southcott is only half seen, as the other half is supposed to have sunk beneath the surface it is placed on.
Made of high fire white ceramic, the ship is built to be highly durable and holds one taper candle. The designer himself showcases the sunken ship with an almost-gone, melted candle that has dripped over the ship and table. The wax being red makes it evermore striking and artistic in a tragic, catastrophic way. Perhaps this lopsided piece was designed not only to sit as a pretty piece of art, but as a meaningful reminder of ship disasters.
