Burwash Correctional Facility in Canada has been closed since the 70s and this abandoned prison photography is hauntingly beautiful. The prison itself is so remote that you need a canoe just to travel to it. Photographer Mike Palmer was brave enough to go to the abandoned site and capture some striking abandoned prison photography.
Palmer said that the biggest challenge the crew faced was getting to the prison. No one could expect how difficult it would be; he said that, "It was snowing and cold and capturing images took a back seat to survival." The weathering that the prison has endured over such a long period of time gave for these hauntingly beautiful pictures.
