The Temaki Sculptured Waste Bin was recently selected for the hugely successful Grand Designs Live Show in the UK due to its innovative design that takes its inspiration from the delicate art of Japanese sushi.
Developed by the design team at Alvarae under the creative direction of Charles Wan, the waste bin was created as a result of the team not being able to find a stylish bin for their studio. The limited edition sculptured waste bin demonstrates the perfect synergy between art and engineering. Created from a single sheet of hand-rolled flexible carbon fibre to form the perfectly shaped Temaki cone, the cone is then magnetically attached to a stylish lightweight polished aluminum base.
The modernist design of the Temaki is so sleek, simple and perfect in so many ways that the very last thing you’ll ever want to do is hide it in the corner and use it for a waste bin.
