Amsterdam-based designer Daniëlle Cathari creates her latest collaborative project with New Balance. She gives a go at the classic 991v2 sneaker model this time around with a focus on a matcha-themed tonal palette. The silhouette itself made its first appearance last year as a new iteration of its 991 with new constructions whilst maintaining the retro spirit of the classic.
The new iteration highlights a slime-green tone throughout the upper with suede materials that is inspired by matcha powder. The brown mesh accents that add a tonal contrast are meant to represent chocolate. All of the details come together for a seamless structure rounded out by embroidered collaborative branding on the tongue and reflective accents.
