In Argentina, 50 "naked" bodies lay on blood-stained floors to raise awareness for animals tortured and killed by for their skins. This year's "Without Skin" campaign built on the success of last year's animal rights activism act. Last year, around 50 people posed in lingerie and blood red body paint. The performance art is meant to raise awareness for the cruelty associated with wearing animal skins.
The urban intervention, "50 bodies speak for animals," was held in downtown Buenos Aires and caught the attention of passersby, dozens of photographers and video cameramen who recorded the hour-long performance.
The initiative was supported by actors Marcela Kloosterboer, Mariano Martinez, Agustina Cherri and Cecilia Oviedo.
