On May 21st, an eclipse was viewable from North America. The 2012 Solar Eclipse time lapse video managed to capture the eclipse in its various stages as the moon passed over the sun, blocking it out. As an annual occurrence, the eclipse was captured by amateur astrophotographer Cory Poole. What is not an annual occurrence is the ability for the eclipse to be seen in its total across the world.
This rare occurrence where people as far as Hong Kong to Los Angeles got to experience such an awesome astrological event was no letdown. Fully passing with very few cloud covers, the 2012 eclipse was a breathtaking astrological display.
If you missed it or want to re-live the fantastic experience, make sure to check out the 2012 Solar Eclipse time lapse video.
