I don’t really know the statistics for the number of people hit by a car each year, but I do know that often it’s not the driver’s fault. Pedestrians appear out of nowhere, whether they’re jaywalking or cycling.
The 2010 Volvo S60, however, incorporates futuristic technologies that can detect the position and direction of pedestrians around the car. It also tracks their velocity so that it can apply automatic brakes to avoid hitting the person in question.
The 2010 Volvo S60’s Pedestrian Detection System offers a huge safety advantage (not to mention, less chance of a lawsuit on your hands). Watch the video to see it in action!
