'Thermalright,' the Taiwan-based PC cooling solutions company, recently launched an M.2 SSD cooler for use in custom and prebuilt computers. The cooler was specifically designed for desktop computers, though it has a low enough profile that it may suit certain larger laptops or consoles. Thermalright's SSD cooler features an aluminum alloy heatsink with silicone connector pads that passively dissipate heat from the SSD.
The device is a passive cooler, meaning it does not require external power and does not contain moving parts. Despite this, Thermalright's unique cooler design successfully reduces SSD temperatures by between 10 degrees and 20 degrees celsius, based on the layout of the PC and the ambient temperature of the room.
Each heatsink undergoes extensive testing to ensure that the devices meet Thermalright's strict quality standards, as the company does not want to be responsible for malfunctioning computers on the consumer end. This SSD heatsink measures in at 75mm x 22.7mm x 11.7mm, making it only slightly larger than an M.2 SSD itself.
