From Homemade Handguns to Midas Touch Artillery
Andrew Robertson — April 22, 2012 — Art & Design
Looking at these deadly devices it becomes obvious that as time goes on, society's obsession with violence continues to grow. Many innovations in regards to firearms or knives can be directed towards non-violent purposes, such as hunting or sporting activities. However, a knife that does the twisting for you exists for one purpose only: effectively killing your target.
The obsession with gun culture couldn’t be more articulated than with such inventions, as exemplified by the dual-firing pistol or umbrella firearm. This could either be indicative of a general rise in anxiety or the need to feel on top in regards to who can better determine who lives and who dies.
Funny and disturbing, the baby carriage outfitted to act as a gun rack goes to show that infants are quite literally being brought up in an environment wrought with aggression.
