From Macabre Money Skulls to Morbid Melon Sculptures
Francis Tiangson — March 25, 2011 — Art & Design
There is something that's just utterly fascinating about these sinister 'skullptures.' In a world where everyone is trying to preserve their lives and prolong their demise, these artworks celebrate the remains of the deceased in many remarkable ways.
From macabre money skulls to morbid melon sculptures, each of these sinister skullptures are creative representations of creepy fleshless craniums. One of the more eerie skull-loving creations is actually made out of real preserved brains that is individually packaged and then arranged into the likeness of the shell that once protected it.
It would be really neat to see an exhibit displaying every single one of these sinister skullptures. A collection of skulls would probably bring in a really unique group of viewers.
