From Cassette Tape Watches to Microwaved CDs as Art
Katherinev123 — November 27, 2009 — Art & Design
Living in the age of iPods and MP3s, I’m sure most people have eschewed CDs and virtually all have done away with cassettes, vinyl records, and rotary phones. While we may not use these oldschool media devices anymore (as they were meant to be used) that doesn’t mean we aren’t reinventing them—giving them new functionality that applies to our modern living standards or using them in creative artwork. With everything from rotary phone watches to VCRs as kitchen appliances, this collection is dedicated to retro media makeovers.
