Processing power determines much of a person's capabilities when using a computer or mobile device, which is why Processing advancements are vital to push the tech industry forward. As processing advancements continue to proliferate amongst tech companies, users will be able to access new capabilities on devices that are used every day.
Increased processing power can also help shape the way AI technology can be used. One example is Intel collaborating with Baidu in order to produce the Nervana Neural Network, which is a processor that will be used to train different AI systems.
Processors in mobile devices, like Samsung's Exynos 980, will give more people access to 5G connectivity. This will enable faster communication on mobile devices.
Other projects look to push the limits of what processors are capable of. The Cerebras chip is the largest computer chip developed for AI projects and is 56 times larger than comparable processing chips.
