From Solar-Powered Blankets to Anti-Poaching E-Bikes
While it is important that industries seek out renewable energy sources, it is also important for consumers to be mindful of their energy intake (collectively) and these personal solar-powered innovations show how one can be a bit more sustainable in their everyday choices.
Many innovations are developed in the university by eager design students hoping for a better tomorrow. Lund University students, for example, explored the benefits of solar power with a range of light designs. The products were showcased in a group exhibition titled 'A Light That Never Goes Out.' On display were various personal solar-powered innovations, including the Eye Lamp for refugee camps and the Stick Light which was designed for camping.
Another great example of a personal solar-powered innovation comes from Mireille Steinhage, a Central Saint Martins design graduate, who created the Solar Blanket.
