From Color Campaigns to Inspirational Sportswear Campaigns
Amy Duong — October 28, 2018 — Social Good
The October 2018 social good trends span across multiple mediums, including different products, campaigns, and services -- all of which hold a purpose of bettering lives, circumstances, or ideas in a broader scope.
A standout example of this concept is the latest Colin Kaepernick and Nike campaign. The former NFL quarterback transcends the message "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything." Kaepernick kneeled as a form of protest against police brutality, thus losing his place in the NFL and making this a personal and powerful message.
Another example is the #Unignorable campaign done by United Way in collaboration with Pantone. The duo created a new shade entitled 'Unignorable' in reference to highlighting social issues that reside in Canada, and spotlighting those that it affects. This is comprised of mental illness, poverty, domestic violence, and unemployment rates -- aiming to make it "unignorable" by bringing it to light with a captivating new hue through the means of art.
