From Budding Banks to Grenade Piggy Banks
Meghan Young — July 15, 2010 — Art & Design
I find it funny that the idea of a coin saver has become synonymous with the image of a pig; piggy banks are still labeled as such, even if their appearance doesn't resemble a pig in the slightest. Take these non-piggy piggy banks, for example. Not one of them is remotely porcine in any way.
Yet it's important to revamp something so traditional lest it become so stale it becomes obsolete. These non-piggy piggy banks will encourage kids and adults alike to continue saving those coins -- instilling an important habit and an appreciation for money.
