Courtney Scharf — April 10, 2013 — Fashion
The top trends this week were filled with unusual, creative pieces from Barbie makeovers to sculptures made to look like they're covered in flesh.
Whether these disturbing trends impressed or disgusted you, there's no denying the intrigue that unusual creations like these have. On the lighter side of things, however, animal portraits by artist Yago Partal appealed to those with more whimsical taste. In terms of the fashion world, two editorials performed exceptionally well this week, both with slightly offbeat themes. One, featured in Vogue China, featured a striking model posing in front of what looked like plastic wrap. The other, from US Vogue, was a paparazzi style editorial with hints of a Japanese aesthetic.
