From Amazing Street Art to LGBT Comic Book Characters
Courtney Scharf — July 11, 2013 — Art & Design
The top trends this week were, for the most part, twists on existing characters and artistic conventions, including some amazing street art.
One of the most encouraging trends to come out this week was the debut of the first ever gay kiss in an Archie comic. Reflecting how progressive the Archie franchise has become, and timed perfectly given the events of the past week.
One of the most shocking street art trends to be covered on the site made a splash this week, and featured Disney princesses acting violently, lurking behind street corners. Subversive, and making a clear subversive statement about popular culture, this work by Herr Nilsson is exemplary.
