I'm a city girl and by that I mean I live to shop, fall asleep to the sound of cars beeping and zooming by outside and am incredibly comforted by knowing there will always be people outside/events happening at all hours of the day.

If you see me eyeing you up or down, starring off in the distance or incredibly distracted when I'm supposed to be engaged in conversation - it is only because I'm incredibly curious. So please forgive me and try to refrain from giving me the infamous What are you looking at? phrase !

I love being in the know which is why taking on the responsibility to be on the lookout for trends and having to report about them excites me so. I'm also incredibly open to new ideas and believe trends can be literally spotted any and everywhere, as I believe there is a huge misconception that trends only consist of the hottest new fashion craze or products that everyone is already on board with!

What's your favorite accomplishment?

Being nominated and selected Student Council President at the best high school, for the best student body ever. (and also winning the Spirit Award in 2008. In my opinion it was most definitely a huge game-changer award for me)

How do you define cool?

Every single human being is unique and I have this crazy theory that when everyone is a follower (of a trend) the uniqueness of you is not brought forth. Therefore, from time to time when one comes across a really "cool" product, idea or event, it will not only spark you to say "Wow. That is cool," but be something that links you to your individuality. As not everything I consider "cool," may be something you consider cool. Not at all but - it is.

What is your secret to uncovering trends?

Having your eyes open, staying true to yourself and not letting any opportunity pass you by.

What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?

How every single person who works at Trend Hunter is the epitome of "cool," in my eyes.

What is your favorite trend?

Things that spread social awareness and goodness.

What are your tips for writing a juicy post?

Knowing your audience and that general things like humour and humility go a long long way.

How do you reset to be creative?

By dreaming, going to Muskoka, extending my comfort zone, listening to some good tunes and spending time with family and really good friends encouraging non stop laughter.

What inspires or excites you?

Hearing about or seeing little acts of kindness that display peace, love and happiness.
