Yuppie is the name of a new Toronto-based app for young professionals who want to foster friendships, connect with other Gen Z and Millennials and expand their network. Founded by Trisha Paguyo, Tahir Rhemtulla and Luka Buzaladze, the exclusive community for young professionals is described as being "like LinkedIn meets Facebook meets Discord meets Bumble BFF," said Rhemtulla, "You're not just placed in a random group chat...we curate a group for you, like if you like the Raptors or you work at a media agency, you may get along with the people we connect you with."
Applicants can connect their LinkedIn to get started and the app's algorithm will share a list of questions to determine the user's interests, their field of work and the neighbourhood where they live, for example.
