In honor of Pride Month, Pride Toronto created a campaign called 'You Can Sit With Us,' which celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQ community. With more than 300 faces packed into a one minute video, the campaign perfectly showcases all different ages, ethnicities, gender expressions, gender identities and sexual orientations.
The You Can Sit With Us campaign plays on the iconic line from the film 'Mean Girls.' However, instead of a message of exclusion, the campaign celebrates inclusion and diversity. The ad itself showcases influential members of Toronto's LGBTQ community, as well as famous allies such as Toronto Mayor John Tory and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The idea is to demonstrate that Pride Month is a time for everyone to come together and support the LGBTQ community, regardless of their background.
