Lifelike Felt Pets

Japanese Artist Yomoko888 Creates Incredibly Realistic Dogs and Cats

Japanese artist Yomoko888 has found the perfect loophole for people who like look of taxidermy but shy away from the idea of it. Rather than using actual animal pelts to create lifelike representations of various creatures, Yomoko888 uses felt and wool to craft impressively realistic-looking dogs and cats.

Yomoko888 has created several different types of pets out of wool, felt, and scant more than that (she also uses glass and plastic to craft the eyes and the dogs' noses.) Dog breeds currently in her portfolio include Shiba Inu (in both blond and black,) corgis, and wiener dogs. The artist has also crafted a tabby cat and a calico cat, according to images from her Instagram page.

Yomoko888's star Shiba Inu, 'Shibawanko,' won Craft Cafe's 'Wool Felt Special Feature' award for outstanding work.
