Yamaha Debuted the 'EMF' Scooter with Gogoro Batteries

Yamaha launched a new electric scooter titled the 'Yamaha EMF.' This scooter aims to solve common complaints in the electric micro-mobility sector, such as speed, range, and reliability. To address each of these complaints, Yamaha has teamed up with 'Gogoro,' a company that is most known as of late for its swappable EV batteries. This partnership enables the EMF to travel double its range before needing to charge overnight. On top of this, customers can merely alternate batteries to keep one charging at home for shorter trips.

In terms of performance, the EMF achieves an acceleration of 0-31 mph in approximately 3.5 seconds, which is easily quick enough for city streets. It is important to note, though, that the top speed of the e-scooter is below 60 mph, meaning it is not highway-ready in most countries. The scooter is targeting the eastern market, though, as the micro-mobility sector continues to evolve at a rapid rate in countries such as India.
