Studio Edwards architects built the new Wye River Container House, a unique tiny living option that is perched on a hillside that overlooks the ocean below.
The off-grid retreat is located on Australia's popular Surf Coast that gives off slow-moving and easy living vibes. The home is made from three 20-foot shipping containers that were placed on a foundation of sturdy stilts. Two of the units make up the main living space that acts as the heart of the home, while the remaining containers house two luxurious bedrooms. The exterior features a dark galvanized steel, with planting wires and a grass roof to blend into the surrounding forest.
Using marine plywood on the interior, Studio Edwards gave the Wye River Container House a warm and minimal aesthetic, with large windows that look offer beautiful views of the sea.
