After making several newsworthy announcements at the International Astronautical Conference in Adelaide, Australia (including his goal to get to Mars by 2022), Elon Musk issued a 100 day challenge to build the world's biggest battery.
The founder of Tesla began building the largest lithium-ion battery installation in the world, and apparently he is already half way there. It's being build in the South Australian countryside with a goal of addressing some of the severe energy problems in the state. Following some back and forth on Twitter and a well-known bet, Elon Musk will now have just 100 days to create a Powerpack system with a capacity of 100 megawatts. Regarding the world's biggest battery, he said "talk is cheap, action is difficult."
