The Ixorb is a surrealist sofa created by Alessandro Zambelli for JCP that plays with notions of perspective, space and perception using a framed wire design that expands past the sectional seating. The sofa was designed for the MDW 2016 with the intention of exploring aspects of substance and space.
The sofa's shape explores angles and linear forms with a tilted base that only touches the ground on front side. The couch opts for white cushions that contrast the black wiring that encases the rest of the sofa and expands back. The wire points inwards as if to create a diverging perspective point located at the back end of the sofa. While the seat is functional, the wiring design renders the furniture piece a work of art as well.Photo Credits: designboom, jcp.design
