The bird-like, winged effect of their new 'Lavabo' design is a washbasin that is both sculpturally marvelous and aesthetically divine. Made incredibly from marble, a difficult medium to create such delicate objects, works successfully in this project.
"The shaping of surfaces in a three-dimensional space had been achieved thanks to the performance of CNC machines," explained Giacomo Cappellini. "This opens new prospects for the use of stone, marble and granite in fields where more ductile materials do still dominate incontestably."
