The Window Chair and Couch is inspired by the stained glass windows present in historical buildings, most commonly churches and cathedrals. Instead of incorporating actual stained glass in its design, however, the seats simply recalls this ancient artform through an artistically executed woven pattern. Used for the backrest, this pattern is also reminiscent of a hammock, which will instantly put people at ease.
Designed by Mars Designstudio, the Window Chair and Couch was presented at Tent London this month. Quite minimalist aside from its colorful, textured back rest, the seating does sport a unique silhouette. The pristine white and cream chairs both boast high back supports with rounded metal legs. It also provides privacy above and to the sides while allowing people to peak out from the back.
