A pedicab driver from Nepal has created an easier-to-pedal rickshaw that uses a windmill to provide extra momentum.
The driver commissioned a professor in a nearby town to design a special pedicab. He installed a windmill, made from a metal drum, to the rickshaw. The windmill is connected to the rear wheels with a side-mounted gear which makes easier to pedal the rickshaw, and provides more thrust.
Implications - In an increasingly eco-conscious world, consumers are looking for alternatives to environmentally destructive products. These products include transportation devices which are fueled by dwindling natural resources like oil, and more and more of these devices are being fueled by renewable resources such as solar and wind energy.
