The animated video 'Whistleless' by Trunk Animations tells the story of a bird who can’t seem to whistle.
When you’re a child growing up it can be hard to notice that other children are developing certain skills and advancing in particular areas that you still struggle in. Surrounded by fellow birds and other animals who can whistle, the avian friend in the film goes from interaction to interaction, none of which end with the bird being able to whistle. Finally, the bird borrows a whistle and sure enough learns to hum a delightful melody for all to enjoy.
The film was made using thousands of potato prints, which were scanned and used as textures throughout the film. Vibrant, melodic and delightfully charming, Whistleless is a great animated short about finding one’s talent.
